Plastic Surgery Front Desk Receptionist

We are looking to hire a Front Desk Receptionist with excellent organizational and administrative skills to undertake receptionist and clerical duties at the desk of our highly reputable, well-established and very busy plastic surgery practice in Orlando, Florida.

You will be the “face” of the company for all visitors and will be responsible for the first impression we make.

The ideal candidate will have a friendly and easy going personality while also being very perceptive and disciplined. You should be able to deal with complaints and give accurate information. A customer-oriented approach is essential. Top candidates will work comfortably under pressure while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and can effectively react to patient needs.

The goal is to make guests and visitors feel comfortable and valued while at our office.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare office for patients by keeping the front desk and lobby tidy and presentable with all necessary material
  • Greet and check patients in according to their scheduled appointment
  • Assist patients to complete all necessary forms and documentation
  • Call patients to verify appointments and appropriate arrival time based upon appointment type
  • Answer all incoming calls (scheduling appointments, providing appropriate information, directing calls, taking messages, collecting payment, etc.)
  • Answer questions and address complaints in a professional manner
  • Monitor email for voicemails and handle them accordingly
  • Maintain and manage patient records
  • Register patients according to established protocols
  • Room and help patients move through appointments according to their scheduled appointment time
  • Manage register activities
  • Monitor office electronic fax and distribute accordingly
  • Monitor office supplies and provide list to office manager
  • Prepare products to ship as needed
  • Help inform patients of medical office procedures and policies
  • Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Assist in other clerical activities as requested
  • Stay overnight with Registered Nurse as the medical assistant with Surgical Patients that undergo 5 hours or more of general anesthesia
    • Note: You will receive compensation in addition to your hourly rate and you will not be able to leave from 5pm-7:30am

Education, Qualifications and Experience

  • High School diploma required
  • Proficient in English (oral and written)
  • Proven experience as front desk representative, agent or relevant position
  • Knowledge of office management
  • Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications
  • Knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures
