Vaser Liposelection / Liposuction

Introduction

Vaser liposelection is an advanced form of liposuction which harnesses the power of highly refined ultrasound waves (the same energy used to view babies in the womb) to liquefy fatty tissue cells and tighten skin, while minimizing the trauma of the suction procedure on blood vessels and nerves. This means that the procedure is associated with a lower frequency of bruising, less pain, and less risk than with traditional liposuction procedures.

Ideal Candidates

It is a great option for any healthy adult with unwanted collections of excess fatty tissue. VASER Liposelection has proven to be a wonderful option for many patients, with a very high rate of satisfaction, short recovery, and very low risk.

How It's Done

VASER liposelection may be performed under local anesthesia in the office or with sedation provided by mouth or vein in Dr. Soto’s accredited onsite operating room.

Tiny incisions are placed in inconspicuous locations and fluid is inserted under the skin to produce a tightening of the blood vessels and expansion of the fatty tissue space. This helps lower the risk of bruising and eases the removal of the fatty tissue. Once the fluid has been infiltrated, a special cannula is used to remove the fatty tissue with gentle suction until the desired contour is achieved.

Recovery

After surgery, a tight compressive garment is applied and must be worn at all times for 4-6 weeks. Pain is mild to moderate, and will depend on the area treated and your individual tolerances. Most patients are able to return to everyday activity within a day or two, with more significant exercise allowed after a few weeks.
