Gynecomastia
(Male Breast Reduction)
Men and boys may experience an abnormal development of the breast tissue, producing an appearance that can be very disconcerting. This most often occurs during puberty, and in late middle age; when seen in pubertal boys, it most often will resolve with maturity. If resolution does not occur as expected, or when it is seen later in life, surgical intervention may be required. Ideal candidates are otherwise healthy and have had an evaluation by their primary physician, in order to exclude other possible, hormonal causes of abnormal breast development.
